What I wore on October 2025?

I know this blog is half abandoned but other things have been getting hectic, and that doesn't mean I don't paint my nails often. Let's talk about what I wore on my nails this month!

I was foreshadowing a problem with my manicures and that was just that the base coat I was using, which by the way is not a peel off base coat, was behaving like one. And it was just since I broke my nails. I tried everything to make it work, including buffing my nails lightly, but alas... this beginning of October has me changing my nails a lot because I was tired of sticking back the peelies.

On October first I did the tombstone nail design I showed you, you already saw a pic of it in that tutorial, but here you go again!

The polishes I used on this mani are all from Deliplus, so if you're in Spain you may be in luck? But some of the shades get released and then fade into obscurity and discontinued, their cosmetics aisle is not that big. Again, this mani didn't last very long. I think it was only two days intact, and the rest being glued back on with more base coat. I got tired, I got bored, and I wanted to experiment, and if you saw my posts back then on bluesky, I got a very sheer polish, but was determined to make it work. That's what I tried on October 5th.

So this mani features, believe it or not, four coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri's The Drizz. Four, and the look is still this sheer. In between the second and third coat it has a coat of Holo Taco's Black Flake taco because jelly sandwich, my passion. You can still see too many imperfections of my natural nail! I would have loved these jellies to be a bit more pigmented. Not milky, not actually buildable to opacity, but at least that one coat was apparent on the nail... At least they're scented nicely, and the colour payoff in one coat is so bad, honestly, that I could use it on top of my top coat to not change the colour at all and have scented nails. That's a thing that I could try.

Anyways, you can imagine that this manicure didn't last long either due to the same issues. So I caved, changed my base coat and tried again with a very basic manicure because I was honestly tired. October 10th will present you something very odd of me: no nail art.

If you're asking, yes, this is Holo Taco's Chameleon Coat. I still have a lot left, actually, because FOMO added a second bottle to my cart when it was going to get discontinued and I still haven't used my first bottle. It's difficult to incorporate a multichrome in nail art, for me, so that's why it gets the treatment of "I want calmer nails, let's pop Chameleon Coat".

And honestly, I was fine with using this if my new base coat didn't work out. But it worked out nicely and I had nothing to worry about anymore. After a test run of five days, I got bored and wanted a change, obviously, to put more nail art on top. So, October 15th made me want to play with supplies I don't use regularly, and I saw some nail vinyls in my stash that kinda reminded me to a victorian-esque wallpaper. Perfect. Let's go, eerie mansion:

The vinyl was not the best quality, but it did its job, more or less. The polishes I used are Holo Taco's Ivy League as the base colour and Holo Taco's World's First because, come on, opaque silver. I almost wanted to use a gold polish here, I don't know, to amp up the warmth, but I decided to go with silver. I also don't have Holo Taco's Trophy Life because I don't really love cool toned golds on myself, I prefer warmer toned gold, personally. This mani was the run test for longevity, and I'm proud to say, they stood there more than a week! Until I finally decided it was time for a change because of a couple of tiny chips around corners in about every nail. Anyways, Halloween mani. You know what's coming:

This mani I did on October 24th is clearly done alongside my frankenstein french nails tutorial. Come on, my vtuber model is a Frankenstein inspired alchemist, are you telling me I'm not going to go for these? All the supplies and tutorial are in that post, if you're interested!

So those are all the manicures I've worn on October. I will say that I changed my nails on November first because it was my birthday so you know what goes on birthdays: glitter and shine! Look at me, another cliffhanger. Thanks for reading and watching my nails!
